Bordello Socks

Well, I can't quite believe I haven't blogged for nearly a month!!!! Where has the time gone??! I finished these socks a few days ago but have only just found the time to blog about them. The pattern is the Bordello sock and comes free when you buy Fleece Artist Sea Wool. It's printed on the ball band.

Pattern: Bordello (free with yarn)
Yarn: Fleece Artist Sea Wool
Colour: Sorbetto
Needles: 3mm Clover Bamboo DPNs

The close up photo shows the colours better than the other photo. It's very similar to the Jaywalker pattern and very easy to memorise. The yarn is thicker than normal sock yarn and you use 3mm needles to knit it. I found the finished sock to be a bit on the snug side but I can get them on so that's ok. The yarn is lovely and soft and knits up really nicely. I have another ball of Sea Wool in my stash and will probably knit another pair of Bordello socks but with a shorter leg length.

They are very pretty, love the details - they seem to show up really well with the delicate yarn.

They look so pretty. I love the Jaywalker style patterns (like the Nasturtium socks as well) as I think the show variagated yarns off really well. Need to get me some Sea Wool :)

Lovely! I was going to knit this pattern but went with Roza's socks instead. It is a very thick yarn, isn't it? My tension is similar to other (thinner) sock yarns, but these are definitely a heavier sock.

I love the soft colors...A beautiful pattern for that yarn!! (that's probably why they put it on the ballband!)

The closeup is so good I'm very nearly on the verge of buying yet more yarn....I think I'm going to have to hide the mouse!

I love this yarn and the pattern ... and am in the queue now just behind Piglottie to get some too:) I've made lots of pairs so far for everyone else in the house - so far none for me. Your socks have changed that and am itching to cast on another pair;)

Very pretty yarn and socks! They remind me of all the chevron-type patterns, especially Jay Walkers.
